MARYLAND: 

Please review the following requirements for tattoo appointments with clients under 18 in Maryland:

Designs and placements must be age-appropriate and are subject to approval.

 

Tattoo minors starting at age 16 with parental or legal guardian consent.  A parent or legal guardian must be present at the appointment with a valid ID.

​

The minor must bring:

• A copy of their ID (school ID, learner’s permit, or driver’s license)

• A copy of their birth certificate

 

All documents are required at the time of the appointment.
 

If any items are missing, the tattoo cannot proceed. Please confirm that you have all the required documents before your appointment.

NEW YORK: 

New York law does not allow tattooing anyone under 18, even with parental consent.
